What
Parent Training Program:
Interventions for Parenting Anxious Behaviors

Anxiety in youth can manifest in problematic behaviors, including school avoidance, dysregulation, and oppositionality. This program is designed specifically for families who would benefit from additional parenting interventions that meaningfully address your child's anxiety. We work with parents to change your responses to your child’s anxiety to support their treatment and improve their functioning and quality of life.

This 6-week program includes:
  • Weekly 60-minute small group consultations with other parents focusing on:
    • Understanding your child’s anxiety and associated behaviors (e.g., school-avoidance, self-harm, low motivation for treatment, etc.)
    • Developing and implementing interventions that are scientifically proven to help youth engage in treatment, challenge their anxiety, and take significant steps toward independence.
  • One 30-minute private consultation
  • On-call coaching to support implementation of treatment plans
  • Coordination of care with other members of your child’s treatment or school team
  • Optional additional services to the program are available in coordination with the PTP instructor:
    • clinician meeting directly with your child
    • clinician meeting with family to optimize treatment gains
