Jessica has extensive training and experience in the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) to treat anxiety disorders. She offers an engaging and interactive experience in therapy and is skilled at instilling the belief that change is possible. Jessica focuses on creating a safe and comfortable setting to test and experience that change. Jessica attended Pacific University and graduated with her Master’s of Art in Counseling Psychology and is a licensed professional counselor. Prior to joining NW Anxiety Institute, Jessica practiced as a therapist within the Portland community, serving a variety of populations. She spent many years working with parents and children in a different settings: outpatient private practice, residential, and in-home as a contracted therapist with Multnomah County, focusing on family stability and safety. Additionally, she has experience working as a community mental health therapist, treating individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI). Jessica values the strength and courage it takes to ask for help confronting fear and anxiety. She feels honored to participate in guiding and encouraging clients to work toward health and an increased participation in life. Her enthusiasm for her work and genuine approach makes her clients feel at ease creating safe space for them to fight their fears. Her most common words of encouragement are, "feel the feeling and do it anyway". When Jessica isn’t seeing clients at the office, you can find her spending time with her son and husband or reading a good book. One of the few Portland natives left in Portland, Jessica enjoys traveling and soaking up everything the NW has to offer. |
