Michael Garcia LCSW
Associate Clinician II
Michael brings a passion for treating anxiety from an approach that is trauma-informed, nonjudgmental, and solution-focused. His therapeutic style is warm and empathic, peppered with some playfulness, when appropriate.
Michael received his Master of Social Work from Texas State University. Prior to receiving his master’s degree, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology at the University of Texas at Austin to better understand the biological factors that underpin mental health and treatment. He furthered his clinical expertise by obtaining supervision over the course of two years and receiving his clinical license. Michael has worked in a trauma-informed partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient program, working with adults and children/adolescents and their families to treat their mood and anxiety disorders. He has received training in a variety of Evidence-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy modalities and specializes in Exposure and Response Prevention therapy.
When Michael is not at work, he can be found playing pinball or chess, riding his bike, or at the dog park with his superstar Chihuahua, Jamal.
