Samuel GoldbergStudent ClinicianSam recently joined the NWAI team as a student clinician. He is committed to creating a safe and collaborative environment that is free of judgment. He has a strong appreciation for evidenced-based treatments and has received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP).Sam values authenticity and a person-centered approach aimed at guiding clients toward meaningful progress in therapy.
Sam is originally from Ohio where he completed his Bachelor of Arts at Denison University before moving to Portland to begin his Master of Arts in Applied Psychological Science at Pacific University. While completing his undergraduate education, he worked as a mental health technician alongside a multidisciplinary team within an inpatient psychiatric unit at a children’s hospital in Ohio. While in this position, Sam was responsible for maintaining a therapeutic milieu and providing trauma-informed care. When Sam is not at work or school, he enjoys spending time with friends, lap swimming at his local recreation center and practicing the electric guitar. Pacific University
