Nathan Samarin, BA, QMHPStudent ClinicianNathan has received training in the evidence based practices of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP). He is committed to creating a collaborative space in which client and counselor can work together to cultivate change. His approach is informed by his values and qualities of empathy, authenticity, openness, and social justice. Nathan believes in gently challenging clients and pushing them outside of their comfort zones while focusing on and acknowledging clients’ sources of strength and resiliency.
Nathan started his academic journey in Southern California, where he went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. During this time, Nathan involved himself on campus as a research assistant for the Evolutionary Psychology lab and as Vice President for the Psychology Department Student Association. While attending school, he worked as a Registered Behavior Technician, where he discovered the power of change through a behavioral lens. When Nathan is free from the responsibilities of life, he enjoys heading out on adventures, staying active, and engaging in the joys of competition. Lewis & Clark
