Matthew Tsz-Chun Chan, MA, QMHPStudent ClinicianMatthew recently joined the NWAI team as a student clinician. With extensive experience working with younger populations, he brings a compassionate and engaging approach to therapy. Trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Matthew is dedicated to creating a safe and collaborative environment where clients can navigate challenges, make meaningful changes, and reach their full potential.
Matthew earned his Bachelor of Arts from Albion College and his Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. Currently, he is a fourth-year doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at Pacific University. Matthew has a rich background in working with individuals facing various mental health challenges, neurodevelopmental disorders, and children of diverse ages and backgrounds. He is pursuing his doctorate to enhance his therapeutic and assessment skills, focusing on better serving pediatric and diverse populations. Matthew has held roles at mental health clinics, hospitals, and schools. Outside of work and school, he enjoys CrossFit, playing basketball, and exploring different food spots. He loves spending time with his partner and her dog, Arwen. Matthew is always seeking new challenges and enjoys learning about different cultures, bringing this dedication to his role at NWAI.
