Gylnnis McBride, BA, QMHPStudent ClinicianGlynnis recently joined the NWAI team as a new clinical intern. She radiates warmth, compassion and humor and values collaborative processes that empower people to grow and change. She has received training in interventions rooted in Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT) and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) as well as various practices of meditation and breathwork.
Glynnis has been supporting youth and families in Portland for over 20 years as an educator, child care specialist, labor and postpartum doula, and group facilitator. Over the last two years she has been pursuing her passion for social work with a local domestic violence shelter working as a youth & family advocate. She is a tireless advocate for folks who have experienced gender-based violence and intimate partner violence, as well as those navigating systemic barriers. Glynnis studied traditional midwifery at Birthingway College of Midwifery and received certification in massage therapy before completing her Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts with minors in both Applied Linguistics and Spanish at Portland State University. She is currently in her final year of her Master’s of Social Work program at Portland State University. Glynnis enjoys community building, home cooking, and snorkeling. When she is not studying or working she can be found in her garden and haunting local record shops. Portland State University
