Emily is a new student intern at NWAI. She is currently finishing her final terms at Lewis and Clark College and will be receiving her Master’s in Professional Mental Health Counseling. Emily is skilled in the field of collaborative process and uses her exceptional communication skills to help build rapport with clients. Emily has previous training in motivational interviewing as well as previous experience with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
Prior to entering the Master’s program at Lewis and Clark College, Emily received a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from the University of Oregon and then furthered her education by becoming certified as a drug and alcohol counselor and earning her CADC I. For the last several years, Emily has been furthering her career in the field of substance use and supporting both teenagers and adults in accessing treatment services. Her innate desire to acquire more knowledge in the field of mental health and her deep-rooted ambition to provide mental health support to those in need allow her to connect on a deeper level with clients.
When Emily is not focusing on her education or career, she loves to dance and attend live concerts. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially her sisters and her pup, Squid. An indifferent cook, Emily is attempting to learn new cooking skills and techniques to bring her cooking to a more tasty level.
