Student ClinicianDuan is a student clinician at NWAI that is calm, cool, and collected in most clinical settings. He has experience providing support, empathy, and decisive decision-making during moments of elevated distress. Duan’s clinical work has been treating anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorders with evidence-based practices of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Furthermore, he has been trained in Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) for obsessive-compulsive disorders and clinically elevated levels of anxiety.
He is currently in his third year of doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at Pacific University. Previously, he earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of New Mexico and his master’s in sport psychology at California Southern University. Duan has worked in residential, hospital, and clinical settings with clients of all ages. This experience has allowed Duan to develop a deeper understanding of the human condition and enjoy the connection made with others as we all navigate the roller coaster of life. In his free time, he likes to workout, play video/board games, and explore new places to practice photography. Pacific University
