Drew Sinclair, BA, QMHPStudent ClinicianPsychology has its roots in philosophy, and so does Drew. In order to create a foundation that incorporates the deepest traditions of wisdom, old and new, Drew has studied both ancient and contemporary philosophy alongside the best practices in the field of psychology. The virtues and methods of living a good life have been studied for centuries. Evidence-based therapies use well-tested research to distill and incorporate the most useful aspects of many of those methods to inform the art and science of therapy. At the place where these perspectives come together, Drew offers an encouraging and thoughtful presence for clients to arrive at their own sense of equanimity, resilience, and the strength to live a meaningful life.
Drew was trained as a linguist in the US Air Force, where he spent two years in immersive language instruction in Monterey, CA learning to translate Arabic. He graduated from Portland State University with a quadruple major in Psychology, Philosophy, Social Science, and Liberal Studies, and is now attending Pacific University's Applied Psychological Science Master's program. Originally from the East Coast, Drew finds the old-growth forests of the Pacific Northwest to be an almost mythic paradise. In the few years that he's lived here, he's learned a bit about edible mushroom foraging, backpacking, and mountaineering, and spends as much time cultivating a peaceful state of mind in nature as his schedule allows. He has recently learned to play Dungeons & Dragons and loves challenging himself to take life less seriously by writing fictional stories and doing voices with his friends. The voices are a work in progress. Pacific University
