Anna van AsseltStudent ClinicianAnna is a new intern at NWAI. She is skilled in providing a safe environment built on collaboration and compassionate support for individuals seeking growth and change. Anna has received training in intervention styles rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP). Her warm, interactive therapeutic style is engaging and helps establish an environment that cultivates change.
Anna received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Friends University before completing her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology at George Fox University. She is currently a third-year doctoral candidate for Clinical Psychology at George Fox University. Anna decided to pursue her doctorate as her desire to gain knowledge and tools to best understand mental health and brain behavior connection continued to develop. She has eagerly worked toward her own personal growth and development throughout her educational experience. Her work in rural school districts, providing assessment and therapy to a pediatric population, expanded her ability to develop her clinical identity and interest. When Anna is not at work or school, she enjoys spending time with her husband playing games, hiking, and partaking in her new found hobby of creating wall tapestry weavings. |
