Amy Olson, BS, QMHPStudent ClinicianAmy is a student intern at NWAI. In her work with clients, she values warmth, collaboration, and humor along the path towards overcoming fear. She has been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Exposure Response Prevention.
Amy received a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology alongside a minor in Food Studies from the University of Oregon. She is finishing her final terms at Lewis & Clark College where she will be receiving a Master’s in Professional Mental Health Counseling and a certificate in counseling individuals with eating disorders. While completing her degrees, Amy worked as a ‘recovery coach’ for people struggling to overcome eating disorders. Here she learned skills in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and motivational interviewing. She hopes to meld her work in anxiety and eating disorders together in her future career. In her time away from work and school, Amy enjoys exploring all of the natural beauty of the PNW, taking her cat, Tasha, on walks and spending time with her partner. As a former fitness instructor, Amy enjoys working out and exploring new genres of fitness. She also has a deep love of the arts, and in her youth was a classically trained ballet dancer. Nowadays, she values art from afar but she is attempting to learn the piano to rekindle some of her artistic values. Lewis & Clark
